Visiting my great grandparents' grave. In China, they bring all these firecrackers and fake money. The fake money is supposed to be passed on to the other side when burned.

The river used to be perfectly clear and the sand used to be really white. All the sand was used for construction and the rivers are filled with trash. This was all done within 15 years. It's really sad =T

I feel old and no longer invincible. Life is fragile. I don't necessarily see a reason to live but death is also very scary. I keep having dreams of the end of the world. Looks something like this ...

but a little less scary and a little prettier... like this.

The thing is, in my dreams, I'm never scared. I always happen to be with close friends or family so I'm content. In the first dream, I was sitting on top of a submarine that was almost fully engulfed in the sea. I'm guessing at that point, the world was flooding (Think of 2012)? The second time, I was at a party with my friends and the sky started melting. I told everyone not to look at it or else they would be blinded...not like it mattered anyways since we were all going to die. Anyways, the point is, life is short. Just spend time on what matters.

I tried my best to capture the essence of the movie with screen shots. It's a lot harder than I thought. I have no idea how photographers capture movement with still images. Even with the ability to rewind, I can't capture a good shot. The cinematography of the movie is simply amazing and you NEED to watch it.

This film is based on a short story by Haruki Murakami and directed by Jun Ichikawa. I've never read his books but I recently purchased Kafka on the Shore. We'll see how that is.

Not sure why but I feel like I haven't had inspiration in months. When I look in my closet, I always end up picking up the most comfortable clothes, which means I end up looking like a AZN (Baggy shirt, cardigan, black tights, and Uggs). Speaking of Uggs, I don't give a shit if they're ugly, they're the most comfortable shoes I've ever put on my feet. Anyways, the inspiration isn't there. I used to able to picture outfits in my head and I would be excited to wear it the next day. Now, I dread choosing outfits. It might be related to the fact that I don't buy clothes anymore because nothing fits. I refuse to buy bigger sizes. haha. Well I started yoga so hopefully I'll be normal soon. I just feel so misplaced. I see myself in the mirror and I'm like..wtf happened? I guess that's what happens when you go to college, gain some weight, and work and gain more weight.

Anyways, I should be normal soon. The sad thing is, I don't even want to lose weight to look "pretty" or whatever, I just want to be myself again.

Another reason I think I feel less inspired is probably because I read too many blogs. I know it sounds counter-intuitive but I feel like I don't have my own style anymore. It's like I'm brainwashed. Truthfully, most blogs blog about the same thing, the same designers, the same shoes they want. I start to think I want those things as well but in reality, I don't. And I don't even like the Jeffrey Campbell Clinic shoes, or the Sam Edelman Zoe wedges, or Alexander Wang. I really don't! But when I see it, I want to buy it! That's what you call self-brain washing.

From now on, I'm going to read less blogs and spend more time with myself.

hatha yoga

I tried Hatha yoga last night and it was more of a success than last time, when I went into the intermediate class for my first ever yoga class. The instructor was so nice and she really made me relax.

The poses weren't too hard. The breathing was hard for me at first because of my allergies but after a while, it came naturally. After yoga class, I felt like my lungs could fill up with more air!

Compared to the Intermediate yoga class I took, I would say this one is easier, and more relaxing. Hatha yoga is definitely something I can deal with.

Hopefully I'll stick to it this time. I can't sit on a chair my whole life. My back hurts EVERY day and I was told by a masseuse that yoga will help.

I already bought the rayon thread (all the way from India...Have you guys ever seen their packages? They're so cool. I want to order empty packages from there just to have it), leather from upstate NY (elkskin, lambskin, cow leather, everything), and fabric from Mood (I annoyed the shit out of the sales people).

Totally, I spent $250 on supplies. I'm really scared to start it because if it turns out like shit, I'll be really sad. And so will my bank account.

When I was younger, I used to go to every class possible (I guess it's an Asian thing). I learned ballet, tap, jazz, painting, drawing, how to play the flute, and how to play the piano. It's sad that none of these things have stayed with me till now. I tried playing the piano this weekend and after 15 minutes, I gave up. I tried drawing too and nothing came into mind. It's so frustrating. Now I'm programming, which is fine... but I feel like who I am now is not what I imagined when I was 5 or even when I was 18. My dad says that sometimes you have to adapt to what you're doing. It's better to enjoy what I'm doing rather than mope about what I'm not. I guess it's somewhat true.

I saw these really fluffy pointy shoes at Century 21 last week but didn't buy them because the bf claimed they were hideous (and also expensive). However, I thought about those shoes at least 3-4 times so I ran back to C21 when I had the chance. They were gone!!! I can't even find them on-line. I have NO idea where to buy them. They're really pointy...and really furry. I usually don't like pointy shoes but his were so beautiful. I think I stood there and stroked it for a good 10 minutes. There's this old grandma in K-town (Korea town) that in MY opinion has a great sense of style. She made this hat out of some blue material (maybe plastic bags?) that I couldn't stop staring at. My friend Andrew linked me to this journal/sketchbook called Fashionary. It seems pretty cool for people like me who haven't had past experience in drawing clothing. I loved drawing boobs actually. I was pretty good at them lol.

I just got back form Europe last week and had the work the day I got back.

All I do is wake up...go to work..go home...eat...chat a little..sleep

I haven't even been shopping since I blew all my money in Europe (actually just France and London)

Yun Jo Ko Kate & Emilia Bariamova

I can't find much information about her but Yun Ju Ko Kate released her Graduate collection (London College of Fashion) in January. I love the second dress. The rest of her collection is nice but doesn't wow me as much as the second dress. Also seen on Fashion156.com

The dress looks 10 times better in the editorial on Fashion156 probably because you see the movement of the dress more. The background probably completes the look.

Make sure to check out the other collections as well. Some of them are really amazing.

I spotted these amazing stilettos by Coppelia Pique on Missneira and immediately wanted them. I have no idea where to buy them and even if I did, I don't think I could afford them. Soooooo, I decided to try my first DIY. I will be working on these after I come back from Europe so I'll post pics then.

After reading Nancy's blog, I decided that I MUST get a beret. I've seen them before on etsy but I was pretty negative in my balance (not that I'm much better now since I buy things like an alcoholic on a rampage. Yes I do love shopping more than a fat kid loves cake). There's something about the patterns on the beret that remind me of bacteria cultures...minus the icky-ness. So enough talk, and here are the pictures. I think I'll go for the polka dot one or the white one with blue embroidery. Oh and make sure to visit Nancy's blog (link up there). I was under this impression that craft shows were things that only West-coasters (and mid-westers) were allowed to have. Apparently, I was wrong! Yayyyyyy. So this Sunday, I'll drag myself out to brooklyn and attend this.
I've been to one other craft show and it was in Seoul, S. Korea. I bought a bunch of stuff that I probably shouldn't have but whatever. Ï just tell myself that I'm "supporting" the whole craft grass-root movement. You can see what I bought here. I really hope I don't forget to go again like I did with the Margiela Sample sale. I would punch myself if I weren't scared of pain.

To do:
1. Make a banner for this blog
2. Move back home (bye Rutgers *sad face*)
3. Pack for Europe (Anybody have ideas on where to visit?)
4. Buy a graduation dress

I found Chenman, a 20-year old photographer born and raised in Beijing, by chance while searching for a picture on google (I never found it). After tracing the links, I ended up at her website which is filled with amazing photography. Apparently she does everything herself, even the photoshop. That's some freakin talent right there.

Normally when I browse through Etsy.com's handmade clothing, I get bored and switch over to the Toy or Vintage section. However, after stumbling upon ChiChi's Color Zone's store, I found myself speechless. I've seen so much drapping and layering this season and truthfully, it's starting to get boring. However, her looks seemed fresh and not so over the top. I could imagine myself wearing most of these pieces out. The last dress is definitely on my buy list. When my check comes, I'm ordering myself one. Btw, the prices are amazing.

I just found out by reading Susie's blog that this is actually a fraud. Well, I'm sure the clothes come to you but they are NOT handmade. They're actually made in some factory in China. Ug..this is so horrible. It caught me off guard since I actually messaged them and they asked for measurements. Why would they make it in a factory with actual measurements? How depressing. Sorry to all those who actually ordered things. I hope what you get is at least decent.
