Drapping just the right amount is exactly what she wanted

Normally when I browse through Etsy.com's handmade clothing, I get bored and switch over to the Toy or Vintage section. However, after stumbling upon ChiChi's Color Zone's store, I found myself speechless. I've seen so much drapping and layering this season and truthfully, it's starting to get boring. However, her looks seemed fresh and not so over the top. I could imagine myself wearing most of these pieces out. The last dress is definitely on my buy list. When my check comes, I'm ordering myself one. Btw, the prices are amazing.

**EDIT**
I just found out by reading Susie's blog that this is actually a fraud. Well, I'm sure the clothes come to you but they are NOT handmade. They're actually made in some factory in China. Ug..this is so horrible. It caught me off guard since I actually messaged them and they asked for measurements. Why would they make it in a factory with actual measurements? How depressing. Sorry to all those who actually ordered things. I hope what you get is at least decent.

  1. I agree. Just discovered your posting via Susie's blog this morning and maybe you should think of posting more! : )

That's quite a find - if it's for real. How did you find it? Just clicking around? I want to order something just to see what actually arrives. I wish there was an actual shop tho so we could try it on.. any idea, do you know if they have anything - even temporary - in London? Or is that the whole point of it being Etsy.
Anyway, good luck with your new little baby blogette. You write really well. Just so you're warned, tho: I've been doing it since way back in March and trust me: it becomes addictive.

  3. JC - I think the whole point of etsy is so that sellers can get their goods up online cheaply (well that's why I've just started my store there)...it's a pretty friendly community so I'm sure most sellers would exchange if something doesn't fit, just check out their policy page.

Porkchopyum - great post - I've bookmarked you so hope to see more!

  4. Jennifer: I think you're right - and it's just amazing! I've joined etsy today in fact. Was just looking at your headbands, they're brilliant - I wish there was a way of putting them on my blog but I'm trying to mostly feature shots I've taken myself - found on the street. I'm going to keep an eye on your shop. Didn't mean to be so cynical : )

And Porkchopyum: I've bookmarked you, too: you're onto something really interesting, just hope you keep posting!

  10. Thanks for the update on this fraud. I don't mind if the dress isn't handmade, I just hope I actually get it. I ordered on 5/7/09 and have yet to hear anything. They didn't answer my emails through etsy, and now etsy has kicked them off. Do you know anything?

  11. Update on the dress- I contacted the seller because I had the email from paypal and the woman's husband answered me right away. To make a long story short, I got the dress today and as soon as I master how I want to wear it I can send you a picture of it. It is really nice, a grey cotton and linen, and it's quite heavy and is lined too. They were not a fraud. The woman who posted that she works for them is a legitimate person.
